    • Project “Expansion of All-Day School Services in Ignalina District Municipality and Lavoriškės” No. 10-059-K-0037

On June 5, 2025, the Administration of Ignalina District Municipality signed an implementation agreement for the project “Expansion of All-Day School Services in Ignalina District Municipality and Lavoriškės” (hereinafter – the Project) with the Central Project Management Agency (CPMA) for funding from the European Union funds, national co-financing funds, and the municipality’s own contribution. The total value of the Project is EUR 784,011.02, of which: EUR 632,422.51 is from EU structural funds, EUR 111,603.95 from national co-financing, EUR 20,200.00 from the state budget, EUR 15,680.22 is the municipality’s own contribution, and EUR 4,104.34 comes from the project promoter, project partners and/or the lead partner.

Project partners include: Ignalina District Didžiasalis “Rytas” Gymnasium, Ignalina District Vidiškės Gymnasium, VšĮ "9plus projects", Ignalina Česlovas Kudaba Gymnasium, Lavoriškės Gymnasium, and a Polish partner – Szkoła Podstawowa im. Mikołaja Kopernika w Serocku.

The Project is being implemented under the progress measure No. 12-003-03-02-01 “Implement Inclusive Education” of the Education Development Program managed by the Ministry of Education, Science and Sport of the Republic of Lithuania, as part of the 2021–2030 National Development Program, following the call No. 10-059-K.

The target group of the project includes students (including children with special educational needs) from schools in Ignalina District and Lavoriškės, their parents (guardians or caretakers), teachers, and educational support specialists.

The aim of the project is to create and implement a set of measures for inclusive education and educational support in general education schools, ensuring greater accessibility to education, the provision of all-day school services, and the supply of necessary special education tools for children with special educational needs.

To address these challenges, the All-Day School (ADS) model will be implemented, expanding educational support services, offering educational and therapeutic activities, and strengthening the competencies of specialists working with students, including those with special needs.

Currently, Ignalina District and Lavoriškės lack comprehensive after-school engagement and educational services that are accessible to children with various needs. Therefore, the project aims to promote inclusive education and ensure the availability of additional support services.

During the project, cooperation will be established with non-governmental organizations, local communities, and other educational institutions to ensure an effective and coordinated service system.

Project funds will be used to organize training for educational specialists, aimed at enhancing their competencies in working with children of diverse needs, both by using Lithuanian and international best practices. Additionally, educational and therapeutic activities will be offered to children (e.g., creative workshops, sports activities, emotional well-being sessions), and the necessary equipment for quality service provision under the All-Day School model will be acquired.

This project will make a significant contribution to the development of inclusive education in Ignalina District and Lavoriškės, ensuring high-quality and accessible support for students with diverse needs, their families, and education professionals.

Project implementation period: June 2025 – May 2028.
